Here are few reminders for this week. MS boys Basketball practice will start Wednesday and MS girls will start next Monday. HS football will play Thursday 7pm at Pike Valley. (Scandia). No school on Friday for staff and students. Thank you and have a safe Halloween!

MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT 10-26-2020 Hi Blue Valley Families, With the weather quickly changing, I wanted to remind everyone about our procedures for canceling school due to bad weather. On days that where bad weather is occurring or supposed to occur, I will be in contact with area Superintendents who meet to discuss the weather situation. We will try to make the decision the night before to allow ample time to make preparations for the next day. Sometimes the weather sneaks up on us and that can't be done. We will place school cancelation on WIBW channel 13, KMAN Radio and on our District website. A Thrillshare notification will also go out to everyone who has subscribed. Please know that we are not bound to the decision of the group and I will make the decision that is best for Blue Valley staff and students. Closing school is never an easy decision but staff and student safety is. Hopefully we have no or few snow days this year. Because of the weather last night and today I thought I would remind everyone on our procedures and where you can find information. Have a great night. GO RAMS!!!!

BV fans that are going to sub-state VB at Axtell on sat. Oct. 24 are required to purchase tickets in advance from GoFan. No tickets will be sold at the gate and everyone will have to present the ticket purchased on their cell phone. Here is the website. https://gofan.co/app/events/124139

REMINDER FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT'S DESK 10-19-2020 Hi Blue Valley Families, This is just a reminder that Parent Teacher Conferences will be held this week on Thursday October 22nd from 4pm to 8pm and next Monday October 26th from 4pm to 8pm. ALL CONFERENCES WILL BE HELD VIA ZOOM. If you haven't heard from your child's teacher(s) please reach out to schedule your times.

MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT 10-19-2020 Hi Blue Valley Families, It is exciting to think that we are starting our 2nd quarter of school today. We have come so far and yet have a long way to go. I wanted to remind everyone of a few things: • We still require masks, social distancing and hand sanitizing for all who come on USD384 property for all event. • If you are a remote learner, you are still required to attend class every day and get your work turned in. Truancy matters in remote learning just as it does while on campus. • Any changes to a student’s remote or in-person schedule must be authorized by the building principal or myself. Students can't choose to remote this week and not the next. it is way too hard. Doctor's notes may be required to return to school if this happens. • Student, staff and community safety is everyone’s responsibility. If you are sick stay home and see a doctor. Don't hang out who friends if you are not feeling well. • What you do away from school will directly impact school and any activities you may participate in. We appreciate your family’s willingness to send their students to school and work through glitches and bumps as we navigate the world of education together. We are here for the kiddos and for you! On sat. Oct. 17 the HS VB team will play in TVL tourney at Frankfort. First match for BV will be at 10am. Bus leaves at 8am. MS volleyball will play Monday at Hanover in the BVL tourney at 5:30 against Valley Heights. Bus leaves at 3:40. Good luck to both teams. Go rams! Marion Mazouch principal.

MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT 10-15-2020 Hi Blue Valley Families, Well we did it. We successfully completed 9 weeks of school!! The staff have done a tremendous job working through this difficult time. It has not been easy for them or for you. Together we made sure our students were safe and that school continued on even positive cases and quarantines. I am grateful for the parents' trust and patience as we got school open and kept it open. As a reminder tomorrow, OCTOBER 16th, 2020 THERE IS NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS. Teachers will be finishing up the end of the quarter paperwork and grades. Please take a minute and reflect on how this started and where we are today, Take a second to thank your child(s) teacher(s) for the work they are doing. As we start the 2nd quarter, I'm sure there will still be challenges. I have started hearing on radio and tv news about flu shots and being prepared. Take all preventative measures you can to keep you and your family healthy as we get into the cold and flu season. As we know, the symptoms of colds and flu are basically the same as COVID. I appreciate the opportunity to lead the fantastic district but couldn't do any of it without the amazing people working in USD384 and the families that support it. Thank you! GO RAMS!!!!!

UPDATE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT 10-3-2020 Hi everyone, I was informed this morning that we have a positive case in the district. If you were at the high school on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday of last week or at last nights (10-2-2020) football game, you may have been exposed. We are making arrangements to get the rooms and area cleaned that we know the positive case was in. Please monitor yourself for symptoms. If you experience any symptoms please contact your doctor and get tested. Once you get tested please let us know as soon as you can. No one knows who is positive if they aren't showing any symptoms. While on school property please remember to use all safety guidelines to include wearing a mask and social distancing. We all have to do our part to ensure a safe and fun school year and/or event for all. GO RAMS!!!
